When Jesus Frutos officially committed his international future to Kozakenboys under 23, Europa Challenge soccer was given a huge boost.
Born in El Cajon, San Diego from Mexican descend, Jesus had a big decision to make at age 17. He could either play in the US, at youth level, or travel to the Netherlands.
But after his internship in February 2020 with FC Dordrecht in the Netherlands, there was no turning back. And as if that wasn’t proof enough, Jesus is the youngest player in San Diego to play in the Netherlands.
Jesus has enjoyed a remarkable breakthrough Kozakkenboys under 23. The youngster only made his debut at the beginning of 2021/22, but he has since established himself as an amazing right-back.
Like all top modern-day right-backs, Jesus is a genuine threat in attack. His composure in the final third has seen him notch up five assists in several second division appearances this term, while his energy enables him to get up and down the pitch effortlessly.
But Jesus is also very strong defensively. His awareness is excellent, and he never shies away from his responsibilities. It’s clear that he has benefitted from the world-class soccer education that Kozakkenboys provides.
